NORTHERN NJ SANCTUARY COALITION ANNUAL GALA, SEPT. 22, 2024

Our 2023 dinner was an experience of friendship, support and joy. Please join us at our 2024 Benefit Dinner on September 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at La Neve Banquet Hall in Haledon, NJ! This year our honoree is Dr. Allen Keller, Associate Professor of Medicine and Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, founder of the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture (PSOT).

Since 1995, PSOT has cared for nearly 15,000 asylum seekers, women, men, and children from around the world who have endured torture and other human rights abuses. Dr. Keller has written numerous articles/chapters that have appeared in leading medical journals and textbooks related to torture and caring for asylum seekers and refugees.

Dr. Keller has worked with NNJSC clients to help them overcome trauma and integrate into a new life. We are pleased to honor and to hear from Dr. Keller.

We will also welcome The Peace Poets, a collection of artists who celebrate, examine and advocate for life through music and poetry. Their art can take us on a journey from the Boogie Down to Berlin, from the border to the bodega. Their style emphasizes lyricism, rhythm, and authenticity. The Peace Poets hail from the Bronx and have performed across the world in over 40 countries. We enthusiastically look forward to their music and poetry.

Please plan to join us on September 22 to be part of this experience. Tickets are $100.00 and will support NNJSC's mission of “accompaniment to persons seeking asylum and advocacy for all immigrants.” This is our major fundraising event and enables us to assist our clients with rent, employment-related classes, and medical costs as well as other critical expenses.

Donations over and above are welcomed. If you`'re unable to come, please consider making a donation! If you are paying for multiple guests, please ask them to identify themselves as your guests when they register.

To learn more about our work, please go to: https://www.nnjsanctuary.org/. Your dinner and donations will be tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law.
