Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye - Featured Artist, Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson

For our second artist of focus this month, I have chosen the amazing Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson. A self
taught artist from Columbus, Ohio. Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson was one of the most prolific
artists living today. Her diverse body of work ranged from drawings and woodcuts to complex
sculptures made from natural and synthetic materials, such as twigs, carved leather, music
boxes, and “hogmawg,” her own material composed of mud, grease, dyes, and glue that she
learned from her father. Robinson collected and used anything she could get her hands on to
make her art. We too will be making small sculpture from “junk” - making art out of detritus.
