2024 Preservation Awards at Barrow Mansion

Join the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy in celebrating 25 years in the community at the 2024 Preservation Awards at the Barrow Mansion. We will enjoy light bites, drink and live music as we recognize exemplary people and preservation projects in Jersey City. The evening will include a 25th Anniversary Presentation, the awards ceremony and a silent auction. As a nonprofit with an all volunteer board, this event helps the JCLC raise funds to support our ongoing efforts and programing.

Our 25th Anniversary event is an opportunity to forge meaningful connections and build relationships with individuals who value organizations that give back to the community. You’ll be in the company of influential community members, key stakeholders, and those who share a passion for Jersey City’s heritage.

About Us:

The JCLC was founded in 1999 as Jersey City’s not-for-profit, all volunteer community organization that promotes awareness and engagement to preserve historic spaces, diverse cultures, and the environmental integrity of Jersey City. We build community through our programming and tours. In 2023 we launched our JCLC Oral Histories series, a platform to share the journeys of individuals who collectively make Jersey City's history. This effort is supported in part by the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund.

In 2024 we expanded our programming to include History Happened Here Children’s Tour and History Hunt, Decorative Arts Restoration Tour of Grace Van Vorst Church and our Balancing Growth and Preservation: Why Preservation Matters panel discussion that was attended by Jersey City residents and elected officials. We added these while building on our day-to-day initiatives to protect historic sites, and support residents and community groups in advocating to preserve and share the history and character of their neighborhoods.
