Case Update August 11, 2023

On August 3 2023, at 12:00 pm, Millburn Police Officer Dundon responded to Trader Joes on Millburn Ave on a report of a theft. Trader Joes Employee reported that her backpack was stolen out of an employee locker, sometime this morning. The backpack contained, wallet, ID, 2 credit cards, and keys to her residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 4, 2023 at 03:30 am, Millburn Police Officer Frisch responded to a Glen Ave residence on a report of an attempted burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that he witnessed on his cameras three actors arrive in a white suv. The actors then walked down his driveway and attempted to enter his 2007 BMW 530 series. The vehicle was locked, so the actors were unsuccessful at gaining entry to the vehicle. The actors then reentered the white SUV and left the area towards Sagamore road. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 4, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Frisch responded to a Slayton Drive Drive residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The resident reported that an unknown actors gain entry to her residence through an unlocked rear sliding glass door. The actors then stole her purse and I-pad that was on the kitchen table near the rear door. The purse contained her vehicle’s key fob. The actors then stole a 2019 Audi A3 from the driveway. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 4, 2023 at 05:54 am, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns located a stolen vehicle traveling south on White Oakridge road. The vehicle was a stolen 2019 white Audi A3, stolen minutes earlier out of Slayton drive in Short hills. Officer Wichelns attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle fled. Officer Wichelns pursued the vehicle east on route 24 to route 78. The stolen vehicle then side swiped a 2022 Ford 150 that was traveling east on route 78. Officer Wichelns immediately terminated the pursuit and stopped to render aid. There were no injuries to the vehicle occupants. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 4, 2023 at 09:37, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to a Long Hill Drive residence on a report of attempted burglary to the residence. The resident reported that at 05:20 am, her burglar alarm went off, and she observed a window screen laying on the grass in her back yard. She went downstairs and located a window that was half opened. The Homeowner stated that no one enter her residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 4, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Ford met with a Highland Ave resident at Millburn HQ on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that video showed at 03:44 am two male actors arrive to his residence in a white Suv, one of the suspects entered his unlocked 2009 Subaru Forrester. The actor stole the Victim’s wallet. The males then fled in a white SUV. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau

On August 4, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Goldfarb responded to Louis Vuitton at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft that occurred on July 28. Louis Vuitton loss prevention reported that they have video that shows a black male select a pair of Louis Vuitton Black Millionaire sunglasses (valued at $890.00). He then removed security sensor, and exited the store without paying. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 7, 2023, at 4:26pm, Millburn Police Officer Ford responded to Neiman Marcus at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of a shoplifting theft that just occurred. Neiman Marcus LP reported that a known male shoplifter Naquan Fairley (age 30), out of Union NJ, had concealed a Montclair jacket in a shopping bag, valued at $2595.00 and left the store without paying. He fled the mall in a silver Chevy cruise. The store and mall security provided the police with video of this incident.This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 09, 2023 at 1:35 am, Millburn Police Officer Bifano located a stolen vehicle traveling on Hobart Gap Road. The vehicle was a stolen 2013 Hyundai Sonata stolen out of Jersey City. Officer Bifano attempted to stop the vehicle on Route 124 east and the vehicle fled. Officer Bifano pursued the vehicle into Union, but shortly after had to terminate due to safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 09 2023, at 05:45 pm, Millburn Police Officer Bifano responded to a Silver Springs Road residence on a report of a theft that just occurred. Homeowner reported that an Amazon package was stolen off his porch and the male then left the area in a white SUV. The actor was a heavy set black. The package contained a pair of shoes valued at $40.00. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 9, 2023, at 8:23 pm, Millburn Police Officer Lyons responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of a theft that had just occurred. Macys Loss prevention reported that Jose TorresPina, age 25, of Bronx NY, stole $837.00 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying. He utilized tin foil to cover the security sensors, in order to keep them from going off. The investigation led to the arrest of Torres-Pina. The search incident to arrest of the subject yielded more stolen property from other stores, which included 3 pairs of Gucci sunglasses with tin foil over the security sensors. He also supplied the police with a fake name. He was charged with shoplifting, antishoplifting device and hindering his own apprehension and was later released on her own recognizance

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
