Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Fall sports at Tenafly High School began this week. Please remember that the Geissinger Field track is closed to the public when in use by the school athletic programs or our Middle School Physical Education classes. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Families with children 4 and up can get in touch with their inner detective and join the Nature Center this weekend for a Seasonal Scavenger Hunt on either Saturday or Sunday. Participants will receive clues to solve nature riddles along the trails. Register today at TenaflyNC.org. Check in between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Visitors' Center.

The next summer concert performance is Tuesday, August 15 at 7 pm in Huyler Park. Join us for Rich Baratta’s Gotham City Septet featuring Erena Terakubo, Paul Bollenback and Bill O’Connell.

At the concert, the Rotary Club will be collecting donations for the Paterson Military Assistance Pantry for the benefit of Veterans and their families. Please bring dry cereals and ingredients, canned goods or toiletries.

The Elks are hosting their 7th annual Tiki Night on Saturday, August 19th from 5 pm to 9 pm. A $20 donation includes food, drinks and entertainment. Proceeds are used to benefit the Army of Hope supporting wounded and deceased American soldiers and their families.

The Senior Center is getting ready for their Annual Rummage Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, August 26th from 9 am to 4 pm. Be sure to mark your calendar.

Save the date for Tenafly’s 9th Annual Community Night on Tuesday, September 12th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Join us for food, drinks, entertainment, amusement rides, a DJ, local businesses, emergency service demonstrations and the 9/11 mobile museum. Community Night is free to all residents.
