Secaucus Police Blotter 08/14/2023-08/20/2023

On 08/14/2023 at 1:24 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23-year-old male, Jonathan Poveda-Vite of Newark, NJ along with a 21-year-old male, Christopher Culquialmeida of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Jonathan Poveda-Vite was also charged with Possession of Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(2)]. Mr. Poveda-Vite and Mr. Culquialmeida were issued their complaint summonses and released from police custody.

On 08/15/2023 at 9:23 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Maplewood Police Department to take into custody a 54-year-old male, Daniel Little of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Little was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Mountainside, NJ in the amount of $750.00, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $200.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $100.00. Mr. Little was able to post bail for the warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ. Mr. Little was released on his own recognizance in relation to the warrants issued out of Mountainside, NJ, Newark, NJ and Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Little was subsequently released from police custody.

On 08/16/2023 at 1:01 PM, Secaucus Police responded to CVS located at 101 Plaza Centre Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32-year-old male, Corey Marrant of Brooklyn, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1A] and Failure to Submit to Fingerprinting [53:1-15]. Mr. Marrant was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 08/18/2023 at 5:43 PM, Secaucus Police responded to T.J. Maxx located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 66-year-old female, Georgina Peralta of Lyndhurst, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Ms. Peralta was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 08/19/2023 at 11:34 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Wayne Police Department to take into custody a 34-year-old female, Johan German-Castro of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. German-Castro was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Bayonne, NJ in the amount of $892.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $99.00. Union City did release Mr. German-Castro on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Mr. German-Castro was unable to post bail for the remaining outstanding warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 08/20/2023 at 1:15 PM, the Secaucus Police arrested a 35-year-old male, Cortavious Hampton of Saltillo, MS for False Public Alarms [2C:33-3E] for contacting the Secaucus Police communications via 911 without an emergency. Mr. Hampton was taken into custody in the parking lot of Sam’s Club located at 300 Park Plaza Drive. Mr. Hampton was also charged with Failure to Submit to Fingerprinting [53:1-15]. Mr. Hampton was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 08/20/2023 at 5:42 PM, Secaucus Police responded to CVS located at 101 Plaza Centre Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 39-year-old male, Michael Pascale of Secaucus, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2] and Possession of a Substance to Defraud a Drug test [2C:36-10E]. Mr. Pascale was issued his complaint summons and was subsequently released from police custody.
