Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit Seize Heroin, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Ecstasy During Search of Home

On August 25, 2023 at 2:36 P.M., the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit responded to a residence on the 200 block of Front Street, Secaucus, New Jersey to conduct a follow up investigation.

During a search of the Front Street residence, Edgar Agramonte, 38, of Union City was found in possession of suspected cocaine and fifteen (15) suspected ecstasy pills. He was arrested and also found to have an active warrant from Jersey City with a bail of $2,000.00.

Also during a search of the residence, Jessica Murphy, 40, of Lake Hopatcong was found in possession of over twenty (20) grams of suspected methamphetamine, two bags of suspected raw heroin and a quantity of suspected Adderall, along with drug paraphernalia. She was also placed under arrest.

“The Secaucus Police Department remains committed to conducting proactive investigations to rid our Town of dangerous drugs and hold those accountable who intend on distributing them within our community,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “I commend the hard work of my Anti-Crime Unit and their commitment to bringing these criminals to justice.”

Edgar Agramonte was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)]. Jessica Murphy was charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine [2C:35-5b(9)(a)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin [2C:35-5b(3)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 feet of Public Housing [2C:35-7.1] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Both were lodged in the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
