Guttenberg Police Blotter - September 11th, 2023 to September 17th, 2023

1. On September 11th, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division observed what appeared to be a physical altercation near La Perla Del Sur (6714 Bergenline Avenue), a local bar/tavern. After intervening, officers arrested 50-year-old Mario A. Garcia of Guttenberg, NJ, for disorderly conduct [2C:33-2]. Mr. Garcia was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Garcia was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.

2. On September 13th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 26-year-old Ana C. Castro-Cordero of West New York, NJ, after discovering that she had an active warrant out of the Guttenberg Municipal Court. She was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Castro-Cordero was released on her own recognizance, pending a new court date with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.

3. On September 15th, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of Ferry Road to assist two motorists with a motor vehicle accident. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 60-year-old Israel Mancia of Weehawken, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Mancia was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Mancia was issued his summons and then released from police custody.

4. On September 17th, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to Rumba Cubana (6909 John F. Kennedy Boulevard East) for a verbal dispute. Once on scene, officers met with the individuals arguing and were able to intervene prior to the incident escalating. As a result of this incident, 43-year-old Allan Cabrera of Bayonne, NJ, was formally trespassed from the establishment and instructed not to return. After being told to do so, Mr. Cabrera failed to leave the establishment and was subsequently arrested for defiant trespass [2C:18-3B(1)]. During this incident, Mr. Cabrera also resisted arrest, after which he was also charged with resisting arrest [2C:29-2A(1)]. Mr. Cabrera was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Cabrera was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.

5. On September 17th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 43-year-old Victor M. Agosto of Jersey City, NJ, after discovering that he had two (2) active warrants issued by the Union City Municipal Court and the North Bergen Municipal Court. Mr. Agosto was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. At police headquarters, Mr. Agosto was able to post the entire bail amount. He was then issued his summons for motor vehicle violations and released on his own recognizance.

The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
