Guttenberg Police Blotter - October 2nd, 2023 to October 8th, 2023

1. On October 2nd, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division located an illegally parked vehicle idling with its driver asleep behind the wheel. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 32-year-old Erlin N. Duarte-Seguero of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Duarte-Seguero was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Duarte-Seguero was issued his summons and released from police custody.

2. On October 2nd, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 40-year-old Eric B. Harris of Yorktown Heights, NY, after discovering that he had an active traffic warrant issued by the Prospect Park Municipal Court. Mr. Harris was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. At police headquarters, Mr. Harris was able to post the full bail amount of $600.00. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Harris was released on his own recognizance, pending his new court appearance with the Prospect Park Municipal Court.

3. On October 4th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested Luis N. Garcia-Bautista of West New York, NJ, after discovering that he was in possession of a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, and various instruments utilized to consume narcotics. At police headquarters, Mr. Garcia-Bautista was charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35-10A(1)] and two (2) counts of the possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Garcia-Bautista was issued his complaint summons, various summons for traffic violations and then released from police custody.

4. On October 5th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 18-year-old Zadiel E. Sosa of West New York, NJ, after discovering that he was in possession of a knife that he claimed was for self-protection. At Guttenberg Police headquarters, Mr. Sosa was charged with the possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose [2C:39-4D]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Sosa was issued his complaint summons, a summons for a traffic violation, and then released from police custody.

5. On October 7th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 49-year-old Marco A. Sanchez-Cruz of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. However, during their on-scene investigation, it was also discovered that Mr. Sanchez-Cruz was in possession of two small baggies, each containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. At the Guttenberg Police Department’s headquarters, Mr. Sanchez-Cruz was also charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35- 10A(1)], failure to make lawful disposition [2C:35-10C], and two (2) counts of the possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Sanchez-Cruz was issued his complaint summons, various summons for traffic violations, and then released from police custody.

6. On October 7th, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 68th Street and Bellevue Avenue for a report of a vehicle blocking the roadway. Once on the scene, officers located the vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway, with its driver asleep behind the wheel. As a result of their investigation, officers arrested 43-year-old Iris I. Coreas-Lovo of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Coreas-Lovo was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Coreas-Lovo was issued her summons and released from police custody.

7. On October 8th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Ezequiel Carjacobo of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Carjacobo was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Carjacobo was issued his summons and then released from police custody.

The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
