Secaucus Police Blotter 10/09/2023-10/15/2023

On 10/09/2023 at 7:46 AM, the police observed a bicycle driving erratically and conducted a stop of the bicycle in the area of 101 Paterson Plank Road. During the stop, the police arrested a 48-year-old male, Jose Velez of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $5,000.00 with a 10% option. Mr. Velez was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 2 traffic summonses and he was released from police custody.

On 10/09/2023 at 8:47 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 51-year-old female, Nashema Billups of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Hoboken, NJ in the amount of $3,000.00 with a 10% option. Ms. Billups was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On 10/10/2023 at 12:08 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 52-year-old male, Andre Vega of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $5,000.00 with a 10% option. Mr. Vega was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On 10/10/2023 at 6:42 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 56 year old male, Charles Lakes of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Resisting Arrest by Force [2C:29-2A(3)(A)], Resisting Arrest by Flight [2C:29-2A(2)], Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1A] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Lakes was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $6,500.00 with a 10 % option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Lakes was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 10/11/2023 at 2:40 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Morris County Jail to take into custody a 30 year old male, Malik Alston of Newark, NJ for 1 unapprehend outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ for the charge of Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] with no bail. The warrant was issued in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on 04/03/2023. Mr. Alston was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $2,000.00 with a 10% option, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00 with a 10% option, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Milltown, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Woodbridge, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of West Orange, NJ in the amount of $150.00. Mr. Alston was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 10/11/2023 at 4:29 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Detective Division in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on 07/31/23, the police arrested a 26-year-old female, Britney Lockett of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Ms. Lockett was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road. On 10/12/2023 at 6:08 PM, the police also arrested a 24 year old male, James Palmer of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Palmer was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters and was charged for the same shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s on 07/31/23. Both Ms. Lockett and Mr. Palmer were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 10/11/2023 at 4:47 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Detective Division in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on 08/01/2023, the police arrested a 26 year old female, Britney Lockett of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Ms. Lockett was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road. Ms. Lockett was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 10/11/2023 at 4:55 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Detective Division in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on 08/03/2023, the police arrested a 26 year old female, Britney Lockett of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to Commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Ms. Lockett was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road. Ms. Lockett was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 10/13/2023 at 12:26 AM, Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle stopped on the roadway in the area of 1351 Paterson Plank Road with the operator of the vehicle sleeping in the driver’s seat. During the investigation, the police arrested a 55-year-old male, John Kowalewski of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Kowalewski was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with 3 additional motor vehicle summonses and he was released from custody.
