Jersey City Crash Leaves Three Dead with 23-Year-Old Facing Charges

Jersey City, NJ - A tragic and deadly crash in the early hours of Monday morning has left three people dead and three others injured, with a 23-year-old man now facing multiple charges in connection with the incident. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has identified the suspect as Ziyang Wang, a resident of Jersey City, and he is now facing serious charges, including reckless manslaughter, death by auto, and assault by auto.

The harrowing collision occurred on Paterson Plank Road shortly before 1 a.m., sending shockwaves throughout the local community and law enforcement agencies. According to authorities, Wang was behind the wheel of a BMW, traveling at an astonishing speed of over 100 miles per hour just moments before the devastating head-on crash with a Kia.

Tragically, the collision resulted in the loss of life for three individuals. The driver of the Kia, 26-year-old Dylan Weidenfeld, was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, two passengers who were in Wang's BMW also lost their lives in the collision. Their identities have not been disclosed at this time.

One survivor, a 19-year-old woman who was also in Wang's BMW, is currently in critical condition and receiving medical attention at a local hospital. Another passenger in Wang's vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, though the details of their condition have not been released to the public.

Ziyang Wang himself sustained injuries in the crash and is currently under medical care at the Jersey City Medical Center. He will remain in custody until he is medically cleared, at which point he will face the numerous charges brought against him by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
