News Update from the Mayor

Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

The Presbyterian Church is holding a Fall Festival at 55 Magnolia Avenue, this Saturday, October 21st, from 2pm to 4pm and will be held inside in the Jim Henry Hall. Live music, face painting, pumpkin decorating, games, and apple cider. An intergenerational event and a great Saturday activity for the family. Free to everyone.

The Elks are hosting an Elktoberfest this Saturday, October 21st at the lodge from 1 pm to 6 pm. Kids are welcome. Join in for an authentic feast plus homemade pretzels, Oktoberfest beer, s’mores, an outside fire, games and caramel apples. $30 for adults, $15 for kids.

The Elks are also sponsoring a Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Sunday, October 22nd at 2pm at the Mount Carmel gym for children ages 8 to 13. Please contact Mark Brownlee at 201-694-5022 for details.

On Monday, October 23rd at 7:30 pm the Nature Center invites members and supporters to the Annual Members Meeting. Learn about TNC’s accomplishments, ongoing projects and future initiatives, and vote in new Board members. Registered members may attend in-person at the Visitors Center or via zoom. Next Saturday, October 28th the Tenafly Senior Center is having a Fall Halloween Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale. Doors open at 9:00 am. Tickets available at the door. $7.00 Adults and $5.00 children. See you there!

Community Playdate is back! Register now for sessions on Saturday, November 4th and Saturday December 2nd. Visit Parks & Recreation on the Borough website to register using Community Pass.

Registration is now open for the Nature Center's Annual Haunted Forest on Sunday, October 29th. Arrive early or come after dark and meet several live nocturnal species on a fun animal walk along the trails. Tours are designed to be entertaining and educational (not scary). After the tour, participants can enjoy refreshments and crafts around the campfire. Register for this and more at TenaflyNC.org

Save the Date for the JCC’s 6th Annual Sports Night of Champions, Thursday evening, November 30th. With special guest appearances from Boomer and Gio of WFAN. This amazing night raises funds for financial assistance for individuals and families to access all the JCC has to offer.
