Hoboken Police Arrest Blotter Oct 26 to Nov 01

On October 26, 2023, at approximately 11 a.m., Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa and Daniel Grossi arrested 33-year-old Jonathan Walker of Hoboken, who turned himself into Hoboken Police Headquarters on a warrant out of Jersey City. He was transported to the Jersey City Police Department.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Police Officers Jesse Castellano and Jason Montalvo responded to H&R Block, 308 Washington St., on reports of a woman sleeping in the vestibule. The woman was identified as 61-year-old Carol Maldonado of Hoboken. When officers woke her up and asked her to leave, she became verbally aggressive and yelled obscenities at the officers. She was given a summons for disorderly conduct, which she tore up and through in the trash. She eventually took her belongings, left the vestibule, and was advised not to return.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officer Anthony Ingraffia, were approached by a man at Hoboken Police Headquarters who reported another man had hit his car with his hands, causing an estimated $800 in damages. A Hoboken Parking Enforcement Officer who was nearby identified the actor as 49-year-old Cheuy Quintana of Hoboken. Another victim approached Sgt. Dennis Figueroa to state his vehicle had also been struck by Quintana. Officers observed Quintana walking up the steps of Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington St. Sgt. Colon ordered him to stop, which he did. Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officer Joshua Campoverde also responded. Quintana was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with criminal mischief, provided a copy of his summons, and released from custody.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Geovanni Cruzado responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St. on reports of a woman removing an electric cart from store property. Police Officer Geovani Cruzado and Sgt. Roary Miller were already on the scene with managers and a woman identified later as 41-year-old Alice Picket of Jersey City. She was placed under arrest for receiving stolen property and theft and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. She was later transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Police Officers Ricky Truppner and Rose Kanan responded to Starbucks, 314 Washington St., on reports of a woman threatening others with a butcher knife. As they made their way to the scene, it was learned the woman may be inside McDonald’s, 134 Washington St. Police Officer Christopher Barral arrived at the McDonald’s and located the woman, later identified as 28-year-old Amanda Hernandez of Hoboken. During further investigation, a knife fell out of her pocket and was later retrieved by officers. Lt. Charles Kucz, Sgt. William Bullock, Sgt. Jason Falco, and Police Officer Ramon Estrella also arrived on the scene. All the officers assisted in the arrest of Hernandez who resisted, while making threats towards the officers, and hitting one in the face. Once she was placed in handcuffs, she spit in the face of one of the officers and threatened to stab and kill him. She continued to kick officers in the legs. Hernandez was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, throwing bodily fluids, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon with an unlawful possession, obstruction, and making terroristic threats. She was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 28, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Lt. Dominick Allegretta, Sgt. Dennis Figueroa, and Police Officers Ramon Estrella and Nicholas Losurdo responded to a residence on the 100 block of Willow Avenue to escort 18-year-old Anthony Diaz of Hoboken out of a home. When they were inside, officers saw Diaz reach for a box cutter. They were able to subdue and place him under arrest. Diaz was transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Diaz was later transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 29, 2023, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Sgt. Anthony Russo and Police Officer Nicholas Protopapadakis responded to the area of First and Washington Streets for reports of a fight in progress. When they arrived, they observed a man with a bloody cheek and several other people gathered in the area. Police Officer Nicholas Losurdo had observed a man, identified as 31-year-old Ryan Hargadon of Bloomfield punch two people. Sgt. Anthony Russo also observed Hargadon assault the two men. Hargadon was arrested for aggravated assault, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released on a summons with a court date.

On October 29, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m.., Police Officers Michael Straten, Jessica Pizanie, David Chicara, and Nicholas Protopapadakis were conducting crowd control in front of Basile’s Pizza, 89 Washington St., and observed a man known to them as 30-year-old John White of Hoboken approaching them while playing the guitar. Officers asked White to move elsewhere multiple times, due to the large crowd they were attempting to control. White continued to come close to officers, while singing songs that berated members of law enforcement. He was advised he was acting in a disorderly manner and was told to back away, which he refused to do many times. He eventually walked away, but later came back with a bottle of an unknown liquid which he splashed at the officers. He continued to scream and act in an extremely aggressive manner, while yelling profanities at officers. After being warned many times to back away, officers attempted to arrest White, whose attempts to resist resulted in minor injuries to multiple officers. Sgt. Frances McCourt, Detective Ryan Houghton, and Police Officers Shelby Seickendick and Anthony Fesken arrived on scene to assist. While being put in a patrol car, White positioned his body in the door to prevent it from being closed. White was transported to Police Headquarters and became irate while walking into the building. He turned his face toward the officers and acted like he was going to spit at them. He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest with physical force, refusal to be fingerprinted, and disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 29, 2023, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Police Officers Daniel Grossi, Rose Kanan, Mark Mooreman, Jessica Lee, and Ricky Truppner responded to Texas Arizona, 76 River St., on reports of a fight. Upon arrival, management told officers that two men were removed from the establishment for acting disorderly inside the bar. One of them, later identified as 22-year-old Yefrid Doncon of Clifton, walked out with an alcoholic beverage in his hand, and when a security guard approached him, a verbal argument ensued. When Doncon was told by officers to leave the area, he refused and continued to act in a disorderly manner by yelling and shouting at bar employees, fighting, and acting in a threatening manner. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was learned he had a warrant out of Seaside Heights. Doncon was given a summons and released from custody.

On October 30, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Police Officers Roberto Cuevas and Jesse Castellano responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St., on reports of a possible assault. On-site investigation revealed that 46-year-old Reynaldo Portillo of Hoboken had harassed and inappropriately touched a female guest inside the shelter. He was placed under arrest for criminal sexual contact and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued a summons and released from custody.

On October 31, 2023, at approximately 6:25 a.m., Police Officers Enrico Gnassi and Aaron Font responded to Walgreens, 1300 Willow Ave., for reports of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival the manager pointed out a man, later identified as 28-year-old Cesar Alban of Charleston, South Carolina, who the manager had witnessed put multiple items into his pockets. Officers escorted him to the front of the store. Lt. David Olivera and Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Christopher Soto arrived to assist. Officers located the items in his pockets. He was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police headquarters. It was discovered Alban had a warrant out of Jersey City. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 31, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officer Anthony Ingraffia observed 23-year-old Raffaelle Spadavecchia of Hoboken, and knew he had an open warrant for the charge of receiving stolen property. That report was taken by Police Officer Domenick Allegretta on October 9, 2023, when a man walked into police headquarters to report his e-bike had been stolen. The bike was located on NJ Transit property the next day, and further investigation by Lt. Richard Torres and Police Officer Frank Francolino determined Spadavecchia to be the actor in the case. On Oct. 31 he was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was processed on the warrant and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
