Millburn Police Case Updates November 21 2023

On November 11, 2023, Millburn Officer Aliotta responded to a Brookhaven Way residence on a report of a burglary. The investigation revealed that unknown actors forced entry into the home. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 11, 2023 Millburn Officer Seebohm responded to 19 Shirlawn Drive on an activated burglary alarm. While Officers were conducting a check of the residence, it was revealed that someone had forced entry into the residence. There was nothing missing from the residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 12, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Palmer responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Macys associates reported that Angel Ixim-Coquix, age 18, of Irvington, concealed $191.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was later released on his own recognizance.

On November 15, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Dundon responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Macys associates reported that Tyrell Megargel, age 34, of Newark, concealed $226.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was later released on his own recognizance. On this same date, at 4:16 pm Millburn Officers were called to Walgreens on Millburn Ave on a report of a theft of laundry detergent that just occurred. Millburn police located the suspect on Rt 124 in front of Scotty’s. It was same individual from earlier theft. Tyler Megargel was placed under arrest again and transported to Millburn HQ for processing. He was charged with shoplifting for a second time.

On November 17, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Macys at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Macys associates reported that Steven Caetano, age 31, of Irvington, concealed $276.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was later released on his own recognizance.

On November 18, 2023 during early morning hours, Millburn Officer Lanni responded to 238 Main St (New Palumbo’s Auto Repair), on an activated commercial burglar alarm. While Officers were conducting a premise check of the business, it revealed that someone had forced entry into the business. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 18, 2023 during early morning hours, Millburn Officer Ford responded to Panera Bread, on an activated commercial burglar alarm. While Officers were conducting a premise check of the business, they came across evidence that someone had forced entry into the businessThis incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 18, 2023 Millburn Police Officer Czupak responded to a Forest Drive residence on a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The Homeowner contacted the police after he noticed his 2017 BMW X3 was missing from his driveway. The vehicle was unlocked with the key fob left in it. The vehicle was later recovered in Newark. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 19, 2023 at 12:15 am, Millburn Police Officer Nacim located a stolen vehicle stopped at the traffic light on Morris Ave and Millburn Ave. The vehicle was a stolen 2009 Toyota Camry. The vehicle was wanted by multiple jurisdictions for commercial burglaries. Officer Recinos and Officer Nacim attempted to stop the vehicle at the light. The suspect vehicle rapidly reversed and struck the Officer’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On November 19, 2023 Millburn Police Officers responded to the Short Hills Hilton on a report of multiple vehicles that were burglarized. The vehicles had their windows broken. Multiple items were stolen. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
