“When not disposed of correctly, unused prescription medication and vaping devices far too often find a way into the hands of vulnerable individuals to be abused or misused,” said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. “The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is pleased to join law enforcement agencies across the country in participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to see that these items are discarded in a safe and appropriate manner.”
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is collecting unused prescription medication and vaping devices at:
- Bayonne City Hall: 630 Avenue C, from 10 a.m. to noon
- Weehawken Lidl Parking Lot: 4100 Park Avenue, from 10 a.m. to noon
- Jersey City Bethune Center: 140 Martin Luther King Drive, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
- North Bergen ShopRite Parking Lot: 3147 Kennedy Boulevard, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Please note vaping devices will only be accepted after the battery has been removed.
Additionally, Hudson County municipal police departments are participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
- Union City Police Department: Bella Vista Apartments, 522 22nd Street
- Secaucus Police Department: Secaucus Public Library, 1379 Paterson Plank Road
- Hoboken Police Department: Police Headquarters, 106 Hudson Street
- Kearny Police Department: Police Headquarters, 237 Laurel Avenue
- North Bergen Police Department: Police Headquarters, 4233 Kennedy Boulevard
- Weehawken Police Department: Police Headquarters, 400 Park Avenue
