Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of LUIS SAUL YANEZ (DOB: 03/25/1994; single; sign and graphic installer) of Midland Park, NJ on charges of sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Midland Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Powderley.
On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the Midland Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Midland Park Police Department revealed that LUIS SAUL YANEZ sexually assaulted the child in Midland Park, NJ on one occasion.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Monday, December 11, 2023, LUIS YANEZ was arrested in Midland Park, NJ and charged with second-degree sexual assault by contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a1. YANEZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Midland Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
