Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé announced that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Antoine Alston, 39, of Newark.
On December 19, at 3:58 a.m., Newark police responded to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of Broadway, Newark. Arriving officers located Alston outside at that location suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:26 a.m.
