Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that on October 12, 2023, at approximately 1:16 a.m., the Paterson
Police Department was dispatched to the area of Summer Street and Hamilton Avenue in
Paterson on a reported shooting. Officers located the victim, a 47-year-old male from Paterson,
with a gunshot wound to the head. He was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
