Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-InCharge Isa Abbassi announce that on October 1, 2023, at approximately 6:36 a.m., Paterson
Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street in Paterson
following a report of shots fired. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim, a 19-year-old male
from Paterson, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to
St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
