Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi
announce that on September 12, 2023, members of the Clifton Police Department were
dispatched to a residence in the area of 3rd Street and Hadley Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey to
conduct a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found Zofia Koc, 73 years-old from
Clifton, New Jersey and Peter Koc, 33 years-old from Clifton, New Jersey, deceased each with
an apparent gunshot wound.
Although this matter remains an active and ongoing investigation, there were no signs of forced
entry into the residence, there are no suspects being sought at this time, and there is no danger to
the public.
