Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 4, 2023, members of the
Paterson Police Department were dispatched to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in
Paterson, New Jersey. Police were advised that a 23-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived
at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey via private vehicle seeking
treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds. Police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the
area of 22nd Avenue and Market Street.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
