Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 11:20 p.m. on July 6, 2023, Paterson Police
responded to the area of Belmont Avenue and North 10th Street on reports of shots fired. Upon
arrival, officers located a potential crime scene and a 42-year-old male Jersey City, New Jersey
resident suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s
University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
