Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and City of Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman
announce that at approximately 3:42 a.m. on June 18, 2023, members of the City of Passaic
Police Department responded to the area of Aspen Place between Columbia Avenue and State
Street on reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene and a thirty-six-year-old male Passaic resident suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Aid
was immediately rendered to the victim, and he was transported to Saint Joseph’s University
Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
