Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman
announce that at approximately 12:33 a.m. on June 1, 2023, members of the Passaic Police
Department were in the area of Harrison Street between Hope Avenue and Lexington Avenue in
Passaic, New Jersey on patrol when a gunshot was heard. Subsequently, a handgun was found in
the backyard of a residence in the area and turned over to police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
