Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 8:05 p.m. on June 3, 2023, Paterson Police
responded St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey on report of a 20
year-old male Paterson, New Jersey resident seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. A
preliminary investigation determined that the shooting occurred in the area of a 11th Avenue and
East 23rd Street in the City of Paterson.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
