Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Major Frederick P. Fife announce that at approximately 12:50 a.m. on April 15, 2023,
members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 22nd Street and
10th Avenue on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department
located a 26-year-old male Paterson resident and a 35-year-old male Paterson resident suffering
from non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were enroute to the hospital via private vehicle.
Medical aid was rendered by responding officers, and both were subsequently transported St.
Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment.
While this was occurring, additional units were dispatched to the area of Madison Avenue and
10th Avenue on another report of shots fired. Responding officers did not locate any victim(s)
but located a potential crime scene. A short time later a 37-year-old female Paterson resident, a
33-year-old female Paterson resident, a 31-year-old female Paterson resident, and a 36-year-old
male Paterson resident arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey
via private vehicles seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
