Jimmy German
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that Jimmy German, 22, of Garfield, New Jersey, was sentenced today by the Honorable Justine A. Niccollai, J.S.C, to an aggregate sentence of 27 years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% to be served before parole eligibility subject to the No Early Release Act.
On February 22, 2023, a Passaic County jury returned guilty verdicts of FirstDegree Armed Robbery, three (3) counts of Second-Degree Robbery, SecondDegree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, and Fourth-Degree Unlawful Taking of Means of Conveyance.
The State presented evidence at trial that on January 29, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., in the area of 21st Avenue and E. 22nd Street, in the City of Paterson, Mr. German robbed victim A.M., 45, of his personal belongings including cash and two cell phones. Then on January 29, 2021, at approximately 6:20 a.m., in the area of 6th Avenue and E. 19th Street, in the City of Paterson, Mr. German robbed victim J.C., 22, of his personal belongings, including his wallet and cell phone. Then on January 29, 2021, at approximately 7:10 a.m., in the area of 12th Avenue and E. 28th Street, in the City of Paterson, Mr. German robbed victim J.P., 59, of his personal belongings including cash, food, and cell phone. Lastly, on January 31, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., in the area of Liberty Street and Wayne Avenue, in the City of Paterson, Mr. German robbed I.O., 31, of his personal belongings including cash and cell phone. Mr. German was apprehended by members of the Paterson Police Department on January 31, 2021, and was found to be in possession of a handgun.
