Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that at approximately 5:00 p.m. on
April 2, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area East 28th
Street and 8th Avenue on report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police
Department located a potential crime scene and a 21-year-old male Paterson, New Jersey,
resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s
University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
