Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Bert Ribeiro announce
that at approximately 12:45 p.m. on March 6, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department
were dispatched to River Street and 6th Avenue on report of a shooting. Upon arrival members
of the Paterson Police Department located a 47-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a
non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University
Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. An investigation revealed that the
shooting occurred in the area of Lyon Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
