Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TAHA AZIZ (DOB: 1/24/1989; single; accountant) of 80 Broad Street, Bergenfield, NJ on a charge of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On December 20, 2023, during a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and United States Postal Inspection Service placed TAHA AZIZ under arrest after he claimed a package at the Bergenfield Post Office that contained approximately 120 grams of methamphetamine that was shipped to him from California. TAHA AZIZ had been under investigation for the distribution of methamphetamine throughout Bergen County in recent months.
As a result of the investigation, TAHA AZIZ was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(9)(a). TAHA AZIZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt, and he would like to thank the United States Postal Inspection Service for its assistance in this investigation.
