Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 4:56 a.m. on January 1, 2024, members of the Paterson
Police Department were dispatched to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New
Jersey to meet with a shooting victim. Upon arrival Paterson Police met with a 25-year-old female
Prospect Park resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. Police were able to locate a
potential crime scene in the area of Market Street and East 33rd Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
