Millburn Police Press Release Janaury 17 2024 (Update)

On January 8 2024, Millburn Police Officer Griffin responded to a Great Oak Drive residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The investigation revealed that someone had forced entry into the residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 8, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Genitempo responded to a Ridgewood Road residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The investigation revealed that someone had forced entry into the residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 9, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to Macy’s at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Macy’s associates reported that Aleem Muhammad, age 28, of East Orange NJ, and another 16-year-old juvenile concealed $748.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The adult suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. The Juvenile male was charged with juvenile delinquency (shoplifting).

On January 9, 2024 Millburn Police responded to Macys at the Short Hills Mall on a report of a theft that just occurred. Two male actors concealed $52.00 of merchandise in backpack. When the two suspects were confronted by Macy’s loss prevention, they threatened the loss prevention officer, and fled the area. Millburn Police were able to locate the two suspects. The investigation led to the arrest of Aleem Muhammad, age 28, of East Orange NJ, and the arrest of a 16-year-old male from Irvington. They were charged with robbery and conspiracy and were lodged in Essex County correctional facility.

On January 10, 2024 Millburn Police located a suspect vehicle, that was involved in a motor vehicle burglary and theft of credit cards in Mahwah NJ, parked at the Short Hills mall. Millburn Detective Wichelns located a suspect that matched the description of the suspect from the incident and attempted to stop him. The suspect ran from the Detective and resisted arrest. Millburn police were able to bring him into custody. Maximiliano Rojasvenegas, age26, of Jackson Heights NY was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
