Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, Stanley
Londono, 40 years old from Paterson, was arrested on January 22, 2024, in connection with a
stabbing incident that took place on January 9, 2024, in the area of 41 Sherman Ave., Paterson,
New Jersey. Mr. Stanley Londono is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree, Aggravated
Assault, Second Degree, Aggravated Assault, Third Degree, Possession of a Weapon for an
Unlawful Purpose, Third Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Fourth Degree.
At approximately 7:12 p.m. on January 9, 2024, members of the Paterson Police Department were
dispatched to the area of 41 Sherman Ave. in Paterson, New Jersey, in response to a report of a
stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim, a 39-year-old male Paterson resident who
suffered several non-fatal stab wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital for further medical
intervention.
The subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Stanley Londono was responsible for the stabbing.
He later surrendered himself on January 22, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m. to the Paterson
Police Department.
The sentencing exposure for Mr. Stanley Londono on First Degree Attempted Murder 10-20 years
New Jersey State Prison, of which 85% must be served before parole eligibility subject to the New
Early Release act; on Second Degree Aggravated Assault it is 5-10 years New Jersey State Prison
of which 85% must be served before parole eligibility subject to the New Early Release act; Third
Degree Aggravated Assault it is 3-5 years New Jersey State Prison; Third Degree Possession of a
Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose it is 3-5 years New Jersey State Prison; and on Fourth Degree
Unlawful Possession of a Weapon it is 18 months New Jersey State Prison.
The State filed a motion for pretrial detention that will be heard by the Honorable Joseph A.
Portelli, J.S.C. on Friday January 26, 2024. Criminal complaints are merely accusations.
Despite these accusations, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty
beyond a reasonable doubt.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
