Guttenberg Police Blotter - January 15th, 2024 to January 21st, 2024

1. On January 16th, 2024, at approximately 20:02hrs, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to 224 70th Street (Laundromat Wash & Fold) for a report of a male who damaged one of their washing machines. During their on-scene investigation, officers retrieved video surveillance footage from inside the establishment, showing 36-year-old Oliver Checo of Guttenberg, NJ, striking the washing machine with a fire extinguisher. Mr. Checo was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Mr. Checo was charged with criminal mischief [2C:17-3A(1)]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Checo was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.

2. On January 18th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 53-year-old Ricardo Aguilar-Flores of Jersey City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Aguilar-Flores was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Aguilar-Flores was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of staff from the Palisades Medical Center.

3. On January 18th, 2024, at approximately 08:00hrs, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of Park Avenue and 70th Street for a reported parking complaint. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 34-year-old Adrian Lopez-Alonso of Union City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Lopez-Alonso was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Lopez-Alonso was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of staff from the Palisades Medical Center.

4. On January 19th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 26-year-old Laiba Shah of Fairview, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Shah was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Shah was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of a responsible adult.

5. On January 20th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Josselyn A. Garmendia-Carcamo of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Garmendia-Carcamo was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Garmendia-Carcamo was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of a responsible adult.

6. On January 20th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 50-year-old Marcos A. Rosario-Rodriguez of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Rosario-Rodriguez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Rosario-Rodriguez was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of a responsible adult.

7. On January 20th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 52-year-old Daniela Encarnacion of Clifton, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Encarnacion was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Encarnacion was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of a responsible adult.

8. On January 21st, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Selyin G. Rivera-Caballero of Newark, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. RiveraCaballero was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Rivera-Caballero was issued numerous summons for traffic violations and then released to the custody of staff from the Palisades Medical Center.

The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
