"Chop Shop" discovered at Veracity Stone Fabricators

Fairfield (NJ) One day after receiving a tip regarding an illegal stolen car “chop shop” allegedly operating at Veracity Stone Fabricators, located at 23 Daniel Road, the Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Edison Cuevas (37) of Yonkers, N.Y. on two counts of receiving a stolen motor vehicle, one count of operating a facility for the sale of stolen automobile parts and a single count of conspiracy to operate a facility for the sale of stolen automobile parts. Earlier today, Cuevas turned himself in to Fairfield authorities and was eventually transferred to the Essex County Jail.

Fairfield authorities allege that Cuevas was one of theprimary individuals responsible for dismantling several stolen motor vehicles at the stone fabricating warehouse in the early morning hours of January 29th.

“Our detectives have done an outstanding job in tracking down suspects in this case and have been working diligently at determining the culpability of each” said Chief Anthony G. Manna. “As the investigation continues, the department is not ruling out the possibility of additional arrests being made,” said the chief.

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).
