Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 4:19 p.m. on February 25, 2024, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a 31-year-old female Paterson, New Jersey resident seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the initial information the victim was shot while seated inside a motor vehicle in the area of Lewis Street and 20th Avenue. While canvassing the area members of the Paterson Police Department located a second victim, a 33-year-old female Paterson resident, in the area of 21st Avenue and Straight Street. The 33-year-old female Paterson resident was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
