Hoboken Police Arrest Blotter Feb 15, 2024 to Feb 21, 2024

On February 15, 2024, at approximately 12:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Troopers arrived at Hoboken Police Headquarters with an arrestee identified as 33- year-old Erika Orero of Hoboken, who was wanted in Hoboken on a warrant for defiant trespass on March 9, 2022. On that date, Police Officer Dylan Archilla responded to Panera Bread, 310 Washington St. on reports of a dispute. Sgt. Robert Roman and Lt. James Peck were on scene. It was learned Orero tried to light a cigarette inside, and when a manager asked her to stop, a verbal dispute ensued. She refused to leave, police were called, and when officers arrived, she was issued a summons for trespassing and was released. On February 15, 2024, Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Daniella Simone processed Orero’s arrest. She was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 15, 2004, at approximately 1 p.m., Police Officer Jaydan Gonzalez processed the arrest of 46-year-old Nirav Mehta of Rumson, who had turned himself in on a warrant for stalking and contempt of court. After processing, he was released. The charges were filed on December 29, 2023, when a man reported to Police Officer Jonathan Figueroa that Mehta came into contact with him multiple times after a no-contact order was put in place. On December 31, 2023, the victim provided Sgt. Adam Colon, with video of the encounters.

On February 16, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., Police Officer Michael Straten and Marvin DeJesus traveled to Perth Amboy to take custody of 25-year-old Mariano Luna of Perth Amboy, who had been arrested there. Luna was wanted for an outstanding warrant in Hoboken for aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He was brought to the Hoboken Police Department for processing and then transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 16, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Harry Montalvo responded to Kings Food Market, 1300 Shipyard La., on reports of a worker being threatened by a man with a knife. Upon arrival, they saw a man who matched the description of the suspect, later identified as 30-yearold Troy Timberlake of Hoboken, outside of the store. Officers located a 5-inch cheese knife in his pocket. Sgt. Adam Colon, Sgt. Christopher Labruno, and Police Officer Harry Montalvo arrived on the scene to assist. Timberlake was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and then taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 16, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., Lt. Jonathan Butler and Police Officers Paul Quinn and Rose Kanan responded to the 100 block of Harrison Street on reports of a man trying to get into a residential building. On scene investigation revealed the man to be wanted out of Jersey City. Later, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers observed the same man, identified as 38-year-old Danilo Sanchez of the Bronx on the 50 block of Harrison Street. He was stopped and arrested for trespassing. Det. Sgt. William Collins and Det. Connor Milne arrived on the scene. It was confirmed that Sanchez had a warrant for his arrest, and he was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed on the warrant out of Jersey City for shoplifting. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 17, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Police Officers Jesse Castellano and Frank Losurdo responded to a parking lot on the 300 block of Jackson Street on reports of a hit and run, where the caller says he saw a man hit two parked cars and drive away. Police Officers Anthony Olivera, Nathaniel Arocho, and Roberto Cuevas located a car that fit the description of that vehicle, and had heavy damage, on the 200 block of Hudson Street. Officers recognized the driver as 24-year-old Raffaelle Spadavecchia of Hoboken. When Officer Olivera engaged his lights and sirens, Spadavecchia first ignored the orders to stop. He eventually stopped on the 50 block of Washington Street where he was ordered out of the car. He appeared to be under the influence and Police Officer Dylan Archilla arrived to conduct a field sobriety test, after which Spadavecchia was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Spadavecchia was taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was additionally charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone, driving without a license, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to observe the directions of a police officer. As per John’s law, Spadavecchia was released into the custody of a responsible party.

On February 17, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., Police Officers Chelsea Tamborra, Mark Mooreman, Nicholas Losurdo, and Paul Quinn responded to the 200 block of Washington Street on reports that a man, identified as 42-year-old Lonnie Clark of Jersey City, was seen there. Clark was wanted on a warrant in Hoboken for criminal trespassing on February 9, 2024. Police Officer Jessica Pizanie took that report in which a victim said someone broke into her apartment on the 300 block of Washington Street. A follow-up investigation conducted by Detective Tyler Soto determined Clark was the actor. On Feb. 17, Clark was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. An additional warrant for Clark was discovered out of Jersey City. Jersey City Police later picked him up to process him on their active warrant.

On February 17, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Police Officers Kyle Seper and Bianca Arroyo responded to the area of Fifth and Grand Streets on reports of a woman being thrown to the ground by another woman. When they got to the area, they saw a woman who matched a description of the suspect walking in the road. Officers approached her and recognized her as 37-year-old Jessica Rosewall of Hoboken. She was rambling and shouting vulgar language. Rosewall refused to stop and continued walking south on Adams Street. Officers eventually stopped her on the 200 block of Adams Street. Police Officers Nicklas Valerius and Shelby Seikendick arrived on the scene along with the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Rosewall continued to become agitated and was uncooperative. It was determined she was to be taken into protective custody. When officers attempted to handcuff her, Rosewall began to flail around her arms, stiffened her body, and refused to comply. At one point a pair of scissors fell out of her pocket. Rosewall was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was issued a summons for disorderly conduct by mail.

On February 18, 2024, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Police Officers Rose Kanan and Nicholas Protopapadakis were patrolling Hudson Street when they observed two men fighting outside of Artichoke Pizza, 96 Hudson St. One of the men, later identified as 24-year-old Jared Such of North Arlington, was striking the other man in the face multiple times and disregarded officers commands to stop. He was placed under arrest, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and charged with simple assault. He was released with a summons.

On February 18, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Police Officer Dylan Archilla was on the 1400 block of Sinatra Drive when he observed a gas-powered scooter type motorcycle with no license plate. Police Officers Roberto Cuevas and Nathaniel Arocho arrived on the scene. The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Angel Guilca of Brooklyn, did not provide officers with an address or identification. It was discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen in New York City. Guilca was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a license plate. He was transported to the Hoboken Police Headquarters, charged with receiving stolen property, and released with a summons.

On February 19, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Police Officers Shelby Seickendick, Nicholas Valerius, and Damien Bates responded to the area of Bloomfield and Second Streets on reports of a man who was seen trying to take wallets from pedestrians, pushing someone off a scooter, and walking in and out of traffic. Soon after, Police Officers Paul Quinn and Nicholas Losurdo observed a man, later identified as 29-year-old Jesus Ortega of Huntington Beach, California, who matched a description of the suspect near the intersection of Second and Clinton Streets. When they approached him, he fought with them, causing minor injuries to some of the officers. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa arrived on the scene to assist. Ortega continued to resist arrest. Sgt. Francis McCourt and Police Officers Anthony Azzoline, Alexander Miller, Shyenna Vega, and Nassir Willey arrived on the scene. While being transported to Hoboken University Medical Center, Ortega continued to be combative, spitting at officers and biting one of them on the wrist. He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and throwing bodily fluids. Ortega was found to have an existing warrant out of Hoboken for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. On February 20, 2024, at approximately 6:40 a.m., he was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing before being taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Police Officers Damien Bates and Garcia Marte responded to the area of Second Street and Park Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. When they approached one of the drivers, later identified as 41-year-old Seguera Foroul of Jersey City, they noticed the smell of alcoholic beverage emanating from his body. Officer Daniela Simone arrived to perform standard field sobriety tests after which he was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Foroul was also issued a summons for reckless driving. As per John’s Law, he was released into the custody of a responsible party.

On February 20, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Police Officer Teddy Santiago responded to the 300 block of Newark Street on reports of a man breaking a glass door to enter a building. Sgt. James Barbro and Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis, Michael Straten, Aaron Font and Sean Sodora also responded. Investigation revealed that a male used an umbrella to smash the door and gain entry to the building. He proceeded to open an apartment door, peer in, and flee down a stairwell when he saw the occupant. Officers located a man who fit the description of the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Oscar Munozparra of Fort Lee, and observed a cut on his hand. He appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to give straight answers as to where he lived and who he was visiting. He was placed under arrest. It was learned he entered a second unit but left when he saw the occupants. A search incident to arrest revealed a small clear baggie containing four pills. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps treated the laceration to his hand. It was learned that he had a warrant out of Bogota for driving without a license. He was processed and charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, possession of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On February 21, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Police Officers Kyle Seper and Shawn Sodora responded to CVS, 59 Washington St., on a report of a shoplifting. Sgt. James Barbro arrived, and an employee pointed out the actor, later identified as 32-year-old Priscilla Mendoza of Jersey City, trying to flee. Sgt. Barbro identified himself as a police officer and ordered her to stop. Mendoza continued to run but Sgt. Barbro caught up to her. Sgt. Saverio Binetti and Police Officers Teddy Santiago and Aaron Font arrived to assist. It was learned that store security observed Mendoza place multiple cleaning supplies into a garbage bag and attempt to walk outside. The total value of the items taken was $167.97. Mendoza was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with shoplifting and obstruction of the administration of law. It was learned Mendoza had four outstanding warrants from Ohio. Mendoza was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 21, 2024, at approximately 8 a.m., Police Officers Cruzado, Frank Lombardo, and David Chicara responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. On-site investigation revealed a man, later identified as 46-yearold Alexander Ballester of Union City put approximately $423.99 worth of merchandise into a cart, but only paid $58.26 at self-check-out. Store security stopped him as he attempted to leave. Ballester was arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Guttenberg and was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On February 21, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Sgt. Francis McCourt and Police Officers Shyenna Vega, Domenick Allegretta, and Alexander miller responded to the 300 block of Marshall Drive for reports of possible drug use. Upon arrival, they located four men who were not residents of the building, which is part of the Hoboken Housing Authority, later identified as 45-year-old Obdulio Ocasio of Jersey City, 24-year-old Ramiro Quirola-Vergara of Hackensack, 23- year-old Ismael Tamat of West New Yori, and 22-year-old Christian Medina of Guttenberg. They were all issued summonses on the scene for criminal trespassing and released.
