Teaneck Woman Charged With Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Posted Mon, Mar 4, 2024, From Bergen County Prosecutor's Office
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of SHANASIA TAYLOR (DOB: 01/06/1992; single; warehouse worker) of Teaneck, NJ on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew R. McGurr.

On Friday, March 1, 2024, the Teaneck Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding a child endangerment incident. An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Teaneck Police Department revealed that SHANASIA TAYLOR had acted in a manner that would endanger the welfare of a child, specifically by not reporting an act of sexual assault against children.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, March 1, 2024, SHANASIA TAYLOR was arrested in Teaneck, NJ and charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a. TAYLOR was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Teaneck Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
