On January 18, 2024, Harrison Police Department fielded a 911 call for shots fired in the area of the Speedway Gas Station. Upon arrival, units canvassed the area with negative results. Police then received information from a neighboring agency in regard to the 911 call; further information revealed that the incident happened at the Hampton Inn Hotel and the victims drove themselves to the hospital for medical attention.
The Harrison Police Detective Bureau processed the crime scene and began their investigation. The shooter pulled their vehicle up to the victim's vehicle, a passenger exited the suspect vehicle and fired two shots into the victim's vehicle; both the driver and the passenger in the victim's vehicle had gunshot wounds. The Town of Harrison video surveillance and ALPR cameras (license plate readers) were able to capture images of the vehicle leaving town after the incident. At this time, the investigation is still underway, and the Harrison Police Department Detective Bureau has identified the driver of the suspect vehicle and the suspect.
