Millburn Police Press Release March 6 2024

On February 22, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Macys at the mall at Short Hills, on a report of credit Card fraud. The store manager learned the suspect fraudulently used a victim’s credit card to purchase $549 worth of merchandise. The investigation led to the arrest of Camara Bamby, age 31, of East Orange NJ. She was charged with forgery, and theft by deception.

On February 23, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Macys in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that Jose Lios Bunay, age 30, of Irvington, and Bryan Quishpebedon, age 38, concealed $1300.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting, and conspiracy.

On February 24, 2024 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta located a parked 2002 Acura MDX running on the side of Old Short Hills Road. The driver of vehicle appeared to be sleeping. The investigation led to the arrest of Marvine Alexis, age 55, of Irvington, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Brown was charged with DWI, and later released.

On February 24, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Genitempo responded to Neiman Marcus in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Neiman Marcus associates reported that Christine Zerparuiz, age 38 of East Elmhurst, concealed $235.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On February 26, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to a Sinclair Ter residence on a report of attempted burglary to the residence. The resident reported that, three unknown suspects were attempting to gain entry to the residence. They were unsuccessful and fled the area in a stolen vehicle, out of Cliffside Park.

On February 26, 2023, Millburn Police Officer Kerwien and Officer Crawn responded to a Barberry Lane residence on a report of an attempted burglary to the residence. The resident reported that, two unknown suspects were attempting to gain entry to the residence. The residences alarm sounded and the two males then fled to an awaiting stolen vehicle, out of Cliffside Park. Millburn Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. Officers pursued the vehicle, but shortly after had to terminate due to safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Om March 3, 2024, Millburn Officer Reid and Officer Manuyag responded to the Short Hills Hilton on a report a trespasser sleeping in the service elevator. Hilton security and Millburn officers located the male suspect. He refused to provide his name or proof that he was a registered guest at the hotel. He was asked to leave several times, but he refused. Shaafi Maye, age 27, of West orange was placed under arrest and transported to Millburn headquarters for processing. He was charged with defiant trespassing and obstruction.

On March 6, 2024 during early morning hours, Millburn Officer Crawn responded to 40 Chatham Rd (Short Hills Pharmacy), on an activated commercial burglar alarm. While Officers were conducting a premise check of the business, it revealed that someone had forced entry into the business. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
