Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 1:25 a.m. on March 7, 2024, members of the
Paterson Police Department were notified that a 17-year-old juvenile arrived at Hackensack
University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot
wound. Based on the preliminary investigation the victim was shot in the area of Montclair
Avenue and Paxton Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
