Guttenberg Police Blotter - March 4th, 2024 to March 10th, 2024

1. On March 8th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 52-year-old Brett A. Yskamp of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Yskamp was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Yskamp was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released into the custody of a responsible adult.

2. On March 9th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 45-year-old Terisa Roberts of Guttenberg, NJ, after discovering that she had an active warrant, issued by the North Bergen Municipal Court, and two (2) active warrants issued by the Paterson Municipal Court. Ms. Roberts was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Roberts was issued two (2) summonses for traffic violations and transferred into the custody of Officers from the North Bergen Police Department.

3. On March 10th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of Ferry Road after receiving reports of a vehicle that had crashed into a concrete wall. As Officers were arriving on the scene, they observed a vehicle with heavy front-end damage, fleeing the area. However, Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle and conduct a motor vehicle stop. During their on-scene investigation, Officers arrested 40-year-old Esteban Chay-Chay of Englewood, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50], with his juvenile daughter sitting in the front passenger seat. As the result of the investigation, Mr. Chay-Chay was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child [2C:24-4A(2)] and endangering another person [2C:24-7.1]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Chay-Chay was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations, issued his complaint warrant, and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center. Due to the motor vehicle accident, the juvenile was medically evaluated at the Palisades Medical Center, after which her mother was able to take custody of her.


The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
