1. On March 20th, 2024, 42-year-old Fernando Orozco-Peralta of West New York, NJ, turned himself into the custody of
members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division for an active warrant. During his arrest, officers
discovered that he was also in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance, believed to be
cocaine. During his arrest processing, Mr. Orozco-Peralta was charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous
substance [2C:35-10A(1)] and failure to make lawful disposition [2C:35-10C]. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Orozco-Peralta was lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
2. On March 23rd, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to 6912 Bergenline
Avenue (La Carreta Bar) for a report of a male who was identified by the establishment’s security following a theft
incident. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 23-year-old Leonel Sanic of North Bergen, NJ, for theft
[2C:20-3A]. Mr. Sanic was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Sanic was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven
guilty in a court of law
