Case updates March 25

On March 8, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to Sephora in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Sephora associates reported that Diana Vasquez, age 43, of Flushing NY concealed $1235.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On March 8, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Macys in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that 4 suspects concealed merchandise and left the store without paying. Store security detained 1 of the suspects and Millburn Police Officers located the other three suspects in the mall. Leslye Landa-Ortega age 28, Bryan Landa-Ortega, age 46, Odalis Vilamarin, age 20, and Ronald Borja age 44 all from Irvington were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On March 9, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Seebohm responded to Macy’s in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that Aristides Hilaropichardo, age 32, of Perth Amboy NJ removed security sensors from merchandise and concealed $417.00 of merchandise in a bag. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On March 9, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Seebohm responded to Macy’s in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that Beka Chikovani, age 24, of Brooklyn NY removed security sensors from merchandise and concealed $292.00 of merchandise in a backpack. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On March 13, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Bifano stopped a 2021 red Camaro at Parsonage Hill Rd and Hartshorn Drive for reckless driving. The investigation led to the arrest of Jonathan Abrams, age 27, of Manhattan NY, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. While in custody Abrams destroyed a police computer keyboard. Murphy was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath test, criminal mischief, reckless driving and later released to an acquaintance.

On March 15, 2024, during evening hours, Millburn Police Officers responded to an Evergreen Terrace residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The Homeowner reported that they arrived home and noticed their house had been broken into. The investigation revealed that the unknown actors forced entry into the home. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 15, 2024 Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Oliver Peoples at the Short Hills mall on a report of a theft that just occurred. The store manager stated that a female had just concealed a pair of sunglasses and left the store without paying for them. Millburn Officers located a female matching the actor’s description. The investigation led to the arrest of Kadisha Jones-Richardson, age 35, of Newark NJ. She was charged with shoplifting.

On March 16, 2024, Millburn Officers responded to the Legal Sea foods at the Short Hills mall on a report of theft of services. Legal Sea Foods manager reported that a male and female had just left without paying for the bill. Millburn Officers located the two suspects in the mall parking lot. Marie Rosario, age 43, of Newark and Marshall Moreira, age 30, of Hillside NJ were placed under arrest and charged with obstruction and theft of services. Marie Rosario had an active arrest warrant out of Newark and was turned over to the Essex County Sheriffs.

On March 16, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Macy’s in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that Diana Almachi, age 30, of Newark concealed $232.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On March 17, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Czupak responded to Shoprite on a report of a Hit and run motor vehicle accident. The caller stated her vehicle was parked in the ShopRite parking lot and was struck by another vehicle. She stated her passenger witnessed the accident and was able to obtain the license plate of the vehicle that left the scene. Millburn Police investigated the incident and were able to determine that no accident occurred at this location. Kalani Norman, age 20, of Maplewood and Siarra Magee-Adams, of East Orange were charged with filing a false police report.

On March 18, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to Macys Parking Deck at Short Hills mall on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The Lucid Motors manager reported that someone attempted to force entry to one of the stores inventory vehicles, that are parked in in the parking deck. This occurred sometime overnight. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 19, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Lyons stopped a Hyundai Sonata on Rt 124 near Cleveland PL for motor vehicle violations. The investigation led to the arrest of Alexander Ngene, age 58, of Irvington NJ, for suspected DUI. He was later released to an acquaintance.

On March 24 Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to a Hobart Ave residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The owner reported that he witnessed three males attempting to enter his vehicle. Millburn Police were able to locate one of the suspects. The 17-year-old juvenile male was charged with juvenile delinquency (burglary to a vehicle). The other two suspects This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 24, 2024, during early morning hours, Millburn Police Officers responded to a Kilmer Drive residence on a report of two males attempting to break into the residence. Upon Millburn Officers arrival, one of the actors entered a Grey BMW X3 and fled the scene (later determined to be stolen out of Bloomfield. Millburn Officer Aliotta pursued the suspect vehicle to South Orange Ave, but shortly after had to terminate due to safety concerns. The Other actor fled on foot. Millburn Office Manuyag was able to locate and arrest the second suspect. Isaiah Jenkins, age 19, of East Orange was charged with attempted burglary, obstruction, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property(vehicle), and he was lodged in Essex County Jail. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
