Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 24-year-old ANN ZHENG of Palisades Park, NJ on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Palisades Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Anthony Espino.
On Monday, April 1, 2024, the Palisades Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding a toddler who had sustained serious burns to his body on Thursday, March 28, 2024, while attending Dearest Angel Child Care in Palisades Park, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Palisades Park Police Department revealed that ANN ZHENG, while having an assumed responsibility for the child, neglected the child, resulting in the child sustaining serious burn injuries.
As a result of the investigation, on April 1, 2024, ANN ZHENG was arrested in Palisades Park, NJ and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A 2C:24-4a(2). ZHENG was remanded to the Bergen County Jail for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Palisades Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
