Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 54-year-old MUHAMMAD NADEEM YOUSUF of Waldwick, NJ on a charge of sexual assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Saddle River Police Department under the direction of Chief Jason Cosgriff.
On Monday, February 26, 2024, the Saddle River Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a woman that occurred while she was working in a residence in Saddle River, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Saddle River Police Department revealed that MUHAMMAD YOUSUF sexually assaulted the woman in the residence.
As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, MUHAMMAD YOUSUF was arrested in Saddle River, NJ and charged with second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2(c)(1). YOUSUF was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Saddle River Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
