Hoboken Police Arrest Blotter April 25, 2024 to May 01, 2024

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 5 a.m., Det. Sgt. William Collins, Det. Bret Globke, Det. Fabian Quinones, Det. Connor Milne, and Police Officers Paul Quinn and Jesse Castellano responded to the 1200 block of Park Avenue to execute a search warrant and arrest warrant on 36-year-old Cory Reube of Hoboken. They were assisted by members of the Hudson County Regional Swat Team. Reube was charged with possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of weapons, and aggravated assault. The charges are in connection to an incident on April 12, 2024, when Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officers Joseph Spano and Dylan Allegretta responded to the 1800 block of Park Avenue in Weehawken on reports of a road rage incident involving a firearm. A follow-up investigation, led by Officer Quinn, determined that after being cut off by another driver, Reube aggressively tailed the other vehicle before pulling up next to it, rolling down his window, and pointing what appeared to be a black handgun at the other car, which had three passengers. On April 25, Reube was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and then to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. A subsequent search of his vehicle located an imitation firearm.

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Police Officers Nasir Wiley and Aaron Font were patrolling near 6th Street and Marshall Drive when they observed a woman they recognized as 36-year-old Crystal Rodriguez of Hoboken, who they knew to have a potential open warrant out of Hudson County was for endangering or abusing by neglecting a child by a caretaker. Rodriguez was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. She was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 25, 2024, at about 2:30 a.m., Sgt. Christopher Soto was on patrol near the area of Fourth and Washington Streets when a victim approached him and said two people tried to carjack his vehicle a few minutes before. The victim was parked outside of Church Towers when he said a male and female pulled on the car doors to try to get in, but the doors were locked, and they fled on foot. The female actor had what looked like a silver collapsible baton. Officers found the two juvenile actors in Church Square Park where they split up. Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Andrias Bonilla, stopped the female, and saw in her possession, a black and silver collapsible baton. The male actor was caught by Police Officers David Chicara and Frank Losurdo after a foot pursuit. During a search, the officers found an unloaded handgun. Both juvenile actors were charged with delinquency and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. The female juvenile was charged with carjacking, conspiracy to commit carjacking, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. The male juvenile was charged with carjacking, conspiracy to commit crime, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a minor. They were processed and taken to separate juvenile facilities.

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Police Officers Arturo Gonzalez and Jonathan Figueroa responded to Walgreens, 1300 Willow Ave., on reports of a shoplifting in progress. Police Officer Aaron Font also responded. The officers were told a man, later identified as 53- year-old Jeffry Roure of Hoboken, was seen leaving the store with a toilet seat and a box of Ensure bottles that he didn’t pay for, totaling approximately $97.62. Roure walked back into the store and was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed on shoplifting charges. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility.

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Police Officers Geovanni Cruzado and Jessica Arebalo responded to the 50 block of Hudson Street to back up Officers Roberto Cuevas and Alexander Miller, who had detained a man who was believed to have committed robbery at Hudson Mart, 104 Washington St. An employee of the store pointed the man, later identified as 28-year-old Isaiah Charles of Jersey City, out to officers. The employee said Charles stole vapes and she followed him outside. When the employee demanded Charles return them, he threatened to harm her. He then went back into the store and grabbed more vapes and left again before being stopped by officers. Charles was placed under arrest and escorted on foot to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was processed on robbery charges and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 25, 2024, at about 10:45 p.m., Sgt. Adam Colon was patrolling Third and Jackson Streets when he recognized 42-year-old Marcus Morales of Hoboken and knew he had an open warrant complaint. Sgt. Francis McCourt and Police Officer Harold Milne arrived to assist. A warrant for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia was confirmed and a search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe burnt at one end with copper mesh, commonly known as a crack pipe, and a white crystalized rock substance suspected to be CDS crack cocaine. Officers also located 12 credit and/or debit cards belonging to six other people. He was charged with possession of CDS crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ultimately taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 26, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m., while on patrol around Third and Clinton Streets, Police Officers Harry Montalvo and Frank Losurdo were approached by a concerned citizen, who told them she observed a man smoking illegal narcotics nearby. They observed a man, later identified as 38-year-old Clement Jerome of Jersey City, sitting on a step on the 300 block of Third Street, holding a glass cylinder pipe commonly used to smoke CDS crack cocaine. He was holding a lighter and appeared to be in the process of smoking. Jermone was told he was going to be arrested. When he stood up, he dropped a small, crystalized rock of suspected CDS crack cocaine. A search incident to arrest found him with a metal push rod. Officers also located the CDS he had dropped along with a small clear zip bag that contained more suspected CDS crack cocaine. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with possession of CDS crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Hudson County Correction Center.

On April 26, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Christopher Barral responded to Church Square Park on reports of a verbal dispute between a man and woman. When they arrived, the woman, later identified as 49-year-old Patricia Lavacchi of Jersey City, appeared frustrated and refused to speak with officers. She left but came back within a few minutes and started to shout derogatory slurs at the officers. She was told multiple times to stop shouting the slursbut she continued to yell. She also threatened violence against the officers by knocking them out. She was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released on a summons.

On April 26, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Police Officers Jessica Arebalo and Damian Bates responded to Church Towers on reports of two nonresidents camping out on the 10th floor. They located two people, later identified as 28-year-old Marissten Turner and 33-year-old Henry Douillard both of Jersey City, sleeping on a mattress inside the elevator room, which is located on the roof of the building. They were both issued summonses for trespassing, escorted from the building, and released.

On April 27, 2024, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Police Officers Frank Losurdo and Nicholas Protopapadakis responded to the 400 block of Marshall Drive on a noise complaint. When they arrived, they saw several groups of people standing around an illegally parked car with loud music playing. The music was lowered, and the car moved to a legal spot. A few moments later, a man, later identified as 37-year-old Barry High of Hoboken, approached the officers in an aggressive manner with his fists clenched. He ignored the officers' commands to stay back and hit one of their hands. When the officers began to place High under arrest, he resisted by tensing his arms and pulling his body away. At one point he fell on one of the officers, injuring the officer's leg. Ultimately, High was arrested. Sgt. Tyler Soto and Police Officers David Chicara, Nassir Willey, Anthony Hochstadter, Cynthia Rivera, Christopher Barral, Anthony Ingraffia, Joshua Campoverde, Rose Kanan, and Kyle Seper arrived to assist with a crowd that was forming. High was charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 27, 2024, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Police Officer Anthony Ingraffia was patrolling the 200 block of River Street and observed a man sleeping in the vestibule of Citizens Bank, 221 River St. Police Officers David Chicara and Nassir Wiley arrived to assist. The man identified as 23-year-old Tyrese Buckhanon of Hoboken woke up and was asked to leave the vestibule. He was issued a summons for defiant trespassing and was released.

On April 27, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Police Officers Christopher Barral and Jayden Gonzalez were patrolling the area of Harrison and Third Streets, when they encountered a road rage incident and saw a wooden roadblock sign through the front windshield of one car. Lt. Michael Costello, Lt. Jonathan Butler, Sgt. Frances McCourt, Sgt. Michael Straten, and Police Officers Ramon Calderon, Remy Garcia-Marte, and Alexander Miller arrived to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed that a driver, identified as 36-year-old Adeyemi Adebola of Jamaica, NY, and a pedestrian, identified as 30-year-old Andrew Mullins of Hoboken, got into an argument over the speed Adebola was going when the Mullins was crossing the street. As Adebola drove away, Mullins threw an unknown object at the car causing the rear window on the driver's side to break. Adebola drove toward Mullins, attempting to run him over multiple times, which is when Mullins threw the wooden roadblock sign into the windshield. Adebola was placed under arrest and began to swing his arms, tense his limbs, and tried to bite and headbutt officers, causing minor injuries to multiple officers. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. A container with pills suspected to be CDS were found in his vehicle, along with empty and full bottles of alcoholic beverages. Once at headquarters he slammed his head against a cell door and the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps was called to treat him. While he was being placed on a stretcher, Adebola verbally threatened to harm the officers and their families. He was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center. When he was transported back to Hoboken Police Headquarters he defecated on a bed in the cell, he slammed his head into the cell door again, and began to throw feces out of the cell and wipe it on officers. He was charged with criminal attempted murder, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, possession of CDS, unlawful possession of a weapon, causing risk to widespread injury, throwing bodily fluid at law enforcement officers, possession of drug paraphernalia, and refusal to be fingerprinted. It was discovered Mullins had a warrant from Hudson County. He was ultimately transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility on the warrant.

On April 28, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Police Officers Daniella Simone and Marc Lombardi responded to a building on the 300 block of Second Street for a noise complaint. When they arrived, they learned that the original caller, later identified as 56-year-old James Rice of Hoboken, had pretended to be a police officer in order to gain entry into his neighbor's apartment. Sgt. Robert Roman arrived on the scene. Rice was placed under arrest for impersonating a police officer and was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released on a summons.

On April 29, 2024, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Police Officers Frank Francolino and Jessica Pizanie responded to Walgreens, 300 Willow Ave. on reports of a shoplifting. Sgt. Saverio Binetti was also on the scene. The manager told them a man, later identified as 33-year-old Angel Lopez-Sierra of Hoboken, left the store with a large blue bag that appeared to be full of stolen property including air freshener, dog food, and t-shirts which totaled approximately $133.20. Officers located Lopez-Sierra on the 1200 block of Park Avenue and saw him with the items reported stolen from Walgreens. He was also wearing a Walgreens T-shirt. He was placed under arrest and handcuffed. During a search incident to arrest, officers found three push rods, a small piece of Brillo, one glass cylindrical pipe commonly used to smoke CDS, a hypodermic needle, and a pink container containing residue of a white powdery substance. He also had Walgreens shirts and a lanyard. He was found to have an active warrant out of Edgewater. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and identity crime impersonation. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On April 29, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Police Officers Shelby Seickendick and Shyenna Vega responded to Shoprite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. A loss prevention officer saw the actor, later identified as 29-year-old Yi Liu of Union City, pay for a few items but then go back into the aisles and put 22 additional items including vitamins, toothpaste, and lotion totaling $315.28 into his bag and attempt to leave the store before security stopped him. Liu was placed under arrest and was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. He was released from custody with a copy of his complaint summons.

On April 30, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., Sgt. Saverio Binetti and Police Officers Jessica Pizanie and Rose Kanan, responded to Ottomanelli’s, 422 Monroe St., on reports of a man inside causing a disturbance. The man, later identified as 24-year-old Sebastian Iniguez of Hoboken, had left the store, but was spotted by officers around the corner who saw him throw soda into a parked car. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he displayed signs of overdosing. Narcan was administered and Iniguez spit out a chewed-up wax fold. He was additionally charged with tampering, possession of CDS heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a summons.

On April 30, 2024, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Detectives Andrew Perez and Luis Rodriguez responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. The store’s loss prevention officer had detained a suspect, later identified as 57-year-old Anna Maria Soto of West New York, after seeing her and a man walk into the store and put items into a baby stroller she was pushing. Soto attempted to leave with the stroller filled with approximately $708.21 worth of stolen items before she was stopped. The man fled on foot. Soto was arrested for shoplifting, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, and released with a summons.
