Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 5:15 p.m. on May 22, 2024, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Putman Street and Mercer Street on report of a shooting. Upon arrival members of the Paterson Police Department located a 13-year-old juvenile who suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
