Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

The 26th annual TEF 5K Run & Dog Walk is this Sunday, June 2. Events kick off tonight, Friday, with a 5k Party followed by a Saturday pre-race Pasta Party dinner and musical performance by the 8th Grade Honors Orchestra. Then, this Sunday is RACE DAY! Registration begins 7:30am in the Middle School Cafeteria adjacent to the Health & Fitness Fair in the Gym. For details visit www.tenafly5k.com

The Tenafly Elks invite you to a grill and chill event to benefit Veterans causes. This Saturday at 1 pm at the Elks Lodge, 20 Franklin Street. Games, fun, karaoke, and great food included. $20 per person.

Spend this Saturday at the Nature Center. Meet a live animal and explore your creative and crafty side. A perfect activity for both adults and children 4 and up. Next Sunday, June 9 is Nature Day, a fun filled celebration featuring gemstone and mineral mining, live animals, canoes on Pfister's Pond, food trucks, local artisans, and more. School Vote Focuses on Impactful Improvements: The Tenafly Public Schools bond referendum planned for September 17 would address needs with up-front funding more quickly than within the restrictions of the regular, annual budget. The proposal includes safety and security; flexible space for specialized instruction; maintenance projects that increase energy efficiency and protect our buildings; improvements to our athletic facilities; and expanded accessibility. District representatives will be at the TEF Tenafly 5K this Sunday, June 2nd to answer questions. Learn more at Tenaflyschools.org/vote .

Enjoy Chamber music with the Two Grammys and a Grampa piano trio at the Old Stone Chapel at the Presbyterian Church, Friday, June 7 at 7 PM. Free admission, donations welcome. Featuring two local students who won a Grammy and our High School Orchestra Director.

The Fire Department is inviting everyone to an open house and equipment muster on Saturday, June 8 from Noon to 4:00 pm at the Fire Department Headquarters. Enjoy a display of antique and new fire trucks, a smoke house for fire prevention education, refreshments and more.

Next Saturday, June 8 from 10 am to 2 pm is the Community Health Fair at the Senior Center. This event is open to all. Free exercise class at 11:00 am and free country line dance class at 1:00 pm. Give-a-ways and fun for all!

The Library Knitters are hosting a Knit-In-Public day from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday, June 8 at Huyler Park. Knitters and crocheters of all experiences are welcome to enjoy their craft and teach newcomers. For details contact Dan Mikulsky at 551-238-0233.

The seventh annual Tenafly Pride Day parade and celebration is Sunday, June 9, kicking off from George Street at 1 pm and marching to Huyler Park. Thank you to the entire Pride Committee for the work they do organizing and raising awareness of tolerance.

Documentary viewing and discussion with local Demarest filmmaker Thea Piltzecker on June 9 at 4:30 PM in the Presbyterian Church. Explore refugees and asylum seekers and their integration into United States through a Brooklyn kitchen. Free admission, donations welcome.

On Friday, June 14 from 7 pm to 11 pm, visit the St. Thomas Armenian Church Spring Evening Market. Enjoy shopping, great food, sip, socialize and entertainment. Artisans, small businesses and services, delicious food, and desserts. Ballroom dancing demonstrations, mocktail mobile bar, backgammon and chess tournaments, painting and more.
