The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of Pearsall Avenue and Garfield Avenue. Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as Resheed Wallace, 24, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:25 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter. No arrests have been made at this time.
